NISSIN FOODS was first founded by Momofuku Ando, the inventor of instant noodles and the World’s first cup-type instant noodles. It began when Japan faced a terrible food shortage after the end of World War II. Ando looked around the streets of Japan filled with starving people, and countless people died from malnutrition. Ando, who witnessed this horrific scene, became acutely aware of the importance of food. He realised that without food, clothing and shelter, humans are useless and there would be no art and culture.
